O V E R V I E W :
As travel continues to rebound post-pandemic, I seized the chance to experience Malaysia Airlines’ Business Class on a regional route—this time from Kuala Lumpur to Manila aboard their Boeing 737-800. While I’ve previously reviewed their widebody A330 product (like my Bali flight), this trip offered a chance to evaluate their narrowbody Business Class on a shorter, 3.5-hour journey through a redemption ticket using my Enrich Points.

C O N C L U S I O N:

I was fortunate to experience Malaysia Airlines’ pre-retrofit Boeing 737 cabin, which features more comfortable leather seats and seatback entertainment—a notable advantage over its successor. While the inflight entertainment system was unfortunately inoperative during the flight, the soft product truly excelled: the cabin crew delivered warm, attentive service, and the meal was flavorful, though the portion size could have been more generous. Thoughtful touches like cold towel service and printed menus enhanced the premium feel, and the post-flight compensation (a modest Enrich Miles gesture from Customer Care) was a appreciated acknowledgment of the inconvenience.
