O V E R V I E W :
Approximate one week after my Iceland trip with my university friends, I was invited by my brother for a last minute trip to Barcelona. So, here am I again, back in London Heathrow. This time round, it will be Terminal 3 (some routes on BA operates from T3) as I will be flying on British Airways to and fro, though I wished the route was operating from Terminal 5 as that is the only terminal in Heathrow I have yet to experience. Having only flew on BA once, this sector will be my second and I was quite excited having had a good first impression on my first BA flight from Dubrovnik to London Gatwick which can be found here.
Lovely Christmas decoration, flying on Christmas Eve! 🙂
Self service check in used before heading to the counters for baggage drop.
Check in process was swift and my boarding pass was printed in no time. Still hate these flimsy boarding pass though. 😦
Headed to the bag drop counters next which was just a stone’s throw away from the check in kiosks.
Gate info was not shown initially but eventually my assigned gate was just a short walk from the duty free area.
Gate 9 to Barcelona.
Nice touch even though its a short flight.
A peek of my aircraft from the small gap thanks to the windowless aerobridges.
Sleek looking seats on this A320 from my point of view.
Mandatory seat pocket shot.
Rather decent legroom.
Flight was rather packed but boarding was completed on time and soon after it was lift off time, with a scenic view of Heathrow :).
And just a few seconds later, flying pass the terminal I wished I was flying from. 😛
Didn’t expect much from the short euro flight in terms of catering, but the food was once again excellent.
After meal service was completed and some moments to rest, the end of this short hop was near. Final approach into BCN.
Interestingly, docked next to another BA, with the super jumbo of Emirates nearby.
Plenty of immigration counters available but not all operational on that day, though the lines were cleared rather swiftly.
Time to explore my first city in Spain and enjoy some paella! 🙂
C O N C L U S I O N:
It was another good experience with BA, decent hard product with good leg room, in terms of the soft product, the crew were friendly and attentive during the flight. As mentioned in my first trip report on BA, while the catering was good, it does lack quantity. Compared to certain Asian airlines that have full meal service even on short haul flights, I wonder if those practice will eventually be undertaken by European airlines like British Airways in the future?
