O V E R V I E W :
This would be my virgin flight onboard the Boeing 737-800 of Firefly Airlines out of their Penang hub, which was a debut into Jet Operations since April 2022 and has now expanded to East Malaysia as well. Many would be familiar with Firefly’s turboprops out of Subang Airport though the Jets operated flights from Penang have differing product offerings which seemed to have underwent alignment more recently and thus may not be similar to what I experienced back in December 2022, where the lowest fare bucket I bought having no checked baggage and inflight meals.
C O N C L U S I O N:
All in all, it was a pleasant flight with a friendly set of crew onboard! As Firefly is part of Malaysia Aviation Group alongside sister airline Malaysia Airlines, the famed “Malaysian Hospitality” can also be felt on this flight. I particularly liked how the inflight meals including my pre-purchased one was served by the crew in a well-presented paper bag, which somewhat elevates the dining experience despite being on a low cost airline. Not only that, my Roti Jala tasted delicious and was a perfect teatime snack! With competitive fares for the Firefly Jet Operations and the fresh cabin seats being rolled out on their aircrafts, I look forward to more flights with them in the future.
